On Wednesday, Dec. 2, at nearly 6 p.m. Goshen Firefighters and members from nearby towns, canvassed the area around Fuller Road in Chesterfield to assist Massachusetts State Police Troopers in finding a missing girl.

The girl, age 13, had last been seen on Fuller Road near the Chesterfield/Goshen town line wearing lightweight clothing, Goshen Firefighters said.

“Nightfall, a brisk wind, scattered flurries, and temperatures hovering just above the freezing mark added urgency to the incident,” firefighters said in a statement to Facebook.

All in all, 30 firefighters were paired into teams to knock on every door asking for information and search every shed, car, trailer, etc. for the girl within a 1-mile radius.

Firefighters were able to piece together some clues that ultimately led to the girl being found, firefighters said.

Details around how and where the girl was found or why she was missing were not provided.

“The word ‘HOPE’ has been illuminated on the front of our station since the beginning of the COVID pandemic,” firefighters said. “Tonight, the word embodied the feelings of both our communities.”
